This site belongs to Save the Children. Save the Children is an organisation which operates in many countries and which exists to protect the rights of children. Save the children is not a department but a non-governmental organisation.
The site Utanpapper.nu has been set up by Save the Children to enable undocumented children and adolescents to find information on rights and regulations. The idea is also that persons active within Save the Children should receive information and advice in order to be able to provide support for undocumented children.
During the period from March 2006 until March 2008 there was a helpline connected to the website. Children and parents could contact us via telephone, website questionnaire or e-mail. In this way we received questions from approximately 600 children and adults. After that there was no telephone line but the website was updated and supplemented with, among other things, new answers to questions from children and parents – see ‘FAQ’ in the left-hand menu.
Through these contacts with undocumented children and adults we learned a lot about their situation; we hope this knowledge may yet be of benefit to others. More information on the results of the project can be found in Swedish and English in the box on the right.
As of January 2010 Utanpapper.nu is no longer updated and it is no longer possible to send e-mails to the site. To contact Save the Children, click on ‘Links’ in the left-hand menu or e-mail to info@rb.se.
